The year was 1948. Nathuram Godse shot Mahatma Gandhi from point-blank range while Gandhi was on his way to morning prayers. Now, some fifteen days later, Gandhi is recovering, while Godse awaits his sentence in Tihar Jail. What follows is an incredible fictional retelling of Indian history through the masterful craft of Asghar Wajahat, where Gandhi and Godse come face to face, where Gandhi’s relationship with the Congress and Nehru takes a different path, where Gandhi’s own beliefs are challenged by ordinary people.
