The Company owns and operates Hotel Broadway, New Delhi, which is home to the celebrated ‘Chor Bizarre – India’s Restaurant’. In 1996 RWTUV, Germany certified Hotel Broadway as India’s first ISO-9002 Hotel, Restaurant and Banquet facility - the highest recognition for quality in the country, an exceptional tribute to the O.W.H. team and a rare honour for a hotel built in 1956.
O.W.H. has been operating the hospitality facilities and cultural events at the India Habitat Centre since 1997. Located in the heart of the city, ‘Habitat World’ (as the hospitality facilities at IHC are known), boasts of the country’s most comprehensive Convention Centre with 20 function rooms, a members’ club with 58 guest rooms and fitness centre, 6 restaurants and 4 performance venues.
Since it opened in 1997, Habitat World has held between three and four cultural events every day - be it theatre, music concerts, dance performances, films, talks or open fora and has seen some of the most illustrious names in the world participating in its cultural calendar. Habitat World serves over 5000 meals daily, hosts over 6000 conferences and banquets each year and organizes over 1000 live cultural events annually making it India’s largest foodservice and entertainment destination.
O.W.H. opened Epicentre
in Gurgaon in January 2008 which brings to this part of the
NCR an auditorium, an art gallery, an amphitheatre, restaurant,
conference & banquet rooms and a 45000 sq ft exhibition and
convention hall which can hold functions for 3000 people.
O.W.H. expanded its operations to NOIDA (East of Delhi) in 2003 with the opening of ‘Chor Bizarre’, ‘Oriental Octopus’ and ‘Lynx’ - a Party Room.
O.W.H. operates 12 restaurants
in the N.C.R. including New Delhi’s first and still the foremost
food court (Eatopia), with 6 sub brands. In addition The
All American Diner, Oriental Octopus
(with 2 branches), Delhi ‘O’ Delhi,
Past Times and The Deck have all carved
out their special niches in the N.C.R. Operating different restaurant
concepts, straddling every concept, cuisine and wallet with
equal panache is an O.W.H. forté. With over 800 employees
in the N.C.R., O.W.H. has invested in people and a very strong
training programme. Its management depth is further proven through
the successful operations of 3 award winning restaurants in
the food capital of the world - London.
‘Chor Bizarre’, commenced operations in Mayfair, London in 1997 and has won several accolades, including being voted as one of the Best 10 Restaurants in London by The Independent and The Best North Indian Restaurant in U.K. by The Good Curry Guide. It was also listed amongst The top 5 restaurant imports in the world along with Nobu by Evening Standard, Metro. In the afternoons Chor Bizarre converts into Chai Bazaar serving 30 different teas from India and traditional Indian sweets and street snacks.
Tamarai, based at Covent Garden, London serves Pan Asian cuisine and can seat 110 people for lunch and dinner with a bar capacity of 300. Designed as a hybrid hub - it is first and foremost a serious restaurant but also during the day time becomes a perfect choice for business meetings, launches and screenings. Post 5.30 pm Tamarai re-invents itself seamlessly from a fine dining restaurant to a late night bar and club. Tamarai has just been voted The Best Late Night Bar in London by Theme Magazine. On the heels of the Best Wine List in London (The Independent), Best Pan Fusion Food in London (Evening Standard), this is truly a terrific new milestone and exceptionally gratifying for an Indian company to achieve this amongst thousands of bars in London, of all cities.
Sitaaray, (also in the same building) is an authentic North Indian Grill set against a stunning cinematic background celebrating 75 years of Indian cinema. An interesting addition in the heart of London’s theatre land, it is a new Indian dining concept combining the two greatest Indian exports - its cinema and its cuisine. Says A.A. Events Etc., the Catering and Entertainment division of O.W.H is considered the most premium service of its kind in New Delhi with a team of talented Chefs and Managers. Counting the major Embassies, top corporates and Delhi’s most discerning hosts as its regular clients, it has also executed large location caterings as well as held Food Festivals overseas at The Ritz, Paris, Harrods, London, The Cannes International Film Festival etc. Events Etc. now is also London’s top pan Asian catering company.
The O.W.H Management Consultancy Services Division has carried out several assignments for blue chip companies in India and overseas. This division, in addition to being the foremost Food & Beverage Consultancy of its kind, prides itself as probably the only one with experience in planning and executing Clubs and Convention Centres.
Old World Academy is the educational arm of the group that organises continuing educational courses and workshops and has tied up in the past with the School of Hotel Administration, Cornell University and the Tisch School for Arts, N.Y.U.
In April 2008, the company took over the management of The Manor hotel, which is a unique 15 room boutique hotel, located in the heart of New Delhi. The hotel's emphasis on quality, understated elegance and comfort is apparent in its cool Italian mosaic flooring with warm, rich wood paneling. Alaistair Sawday recently rated The Manor as one of the 20 most fabulous boutique hotels in India. In 2009, the hotel launched a new restaurant, Indian Accent which received rave reviews and was also voted as Delhi’s Best Modern Indian Restaurant. The expansion plans of the hotel include a gym and a spa, which will open shortly.
